Resident Evil movie stars, Milla Jovovich, Mike Epps, Oded Fehr and singing star Ashanti, making her horror-flick debut, will all be at the Planet Hollywood resort tonight for its world-premiere.

It’s the third and final installment of the $100-million Resident Evil trilogy, once again based on the highly popular video-game series. Ashanti, who told me she’s a huge fan of horror movies, plays Nurse Betty in the main rescue convoy.

Although the movie is set in Las Vegas and our surrounding desert, I learned that it was all filmed in Mexico. Creator, writer and producer, Paul Anderson, who will be in Vegas tonight, had to hire 300 extras for the battle between humans and the infected undead. He confirmed that he built a totally detailed miniaturized re-creation of the entire Strip measuring 80 feet by 40 feet that was then computer enhanced to show the post apocalyptic Vegas set in the movie. Anderson also had to use computer technology to “magnify” the antics of four real-life crows that were super-imposed on top of dozens of other animated crows.

After the Screen Gems premiere screening, the stars and movie executives will join Planet Hollywood honchos for an exclusive after-party at the sixth floor pool. Luxe Life will have all the photos of Planet Hollywood’s glamour debut world movie premiere next week. Robert Earl, Planet’s chairman, has promised that the Resident Evil premiere will be the first of regular monthly gala red-carpet movie events. He’s got giant outdoor TV screens set up on the high walled front entrances showing scenes of the movie to the 200,000 visitors who walk by each day!
